On February 25, Moxie Marlinspike, founder of the cross-platform messaging app Signal, tweeted that Telegram is not secure and information is not encrypted.

Telegram is the most popular communication tool in urban Ukraine. After a decade of misleading marketing and media hype, most people think it's a "crypto app.

The reality is quite the opposite, TG is by default a cloud database containing a plaintext copy of every message that everyone has ever sent/received. Moxie Marlinspike posted the tweet against the backdrop of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
