Côte d’Ivoire’s SIKA Finance website reported on January 11, 2022 that the cryptocurrency (that is, decentralized digital currency) payment platform Triple A released a report on the same day, showing that Côte d’Ivoire has the most cryptocurrency users among the eight member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, with a total of 343,000 people. ; followed by Mali, with 232,000 users. However, from the perspective of the whole of Africa, Nigeria ranks first in Africa with 13 million users, followed by Kenya, South Africa, Egypt and Ethiopia in the second to fifth place, Côte d'Ivoire ranks 13th, and Mali ranks 16th.
From a global perspective, Asia is the continent with the most cryptocurrency users (160 million, of which 100 million users in India ranked first in the world), and Europe and Africa ranked second and third with 38 million and 32 million users respectively.
