Foreign media: E-commerce giant eBay may accept encrypted payment

E-commerce giant eBay is looking into the possibility of adding cryptocurrencies as a payment method, the Columbia State Journal reported on Feb. 28.

Jamie Iannone, the company’s chief executive, said, “We have just completed the transition to managed payments, where we now manage $85 billion in transaction volume directly on our platform. This allows us to open up new payment methods.”

The company will likely make an announcement on March 10, a day dedicated to investors. As previously reported, on May 11, 2021, e-commerce giant eBay will allow the sale of NFTs on the platform.
