Real estate firm Remax’s regional manager Yuval Ben Haym has announced that the “first” use of cryptocurrencies to buy real estate has occurred in Chile.
Ben Haym informed that the purchase, which was completed in November last year, was for a client to acquire a piece of land in the southern Chilean city of Temuco. Ben Haym is optimistic about the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as real estate payment options and announced that they are open to accepting such currencies. Ben Haym said: "Between now and the future, some properties will be able to pay with this new payment method.
