The network hash rate jumped 31.69% from 188.40 EH/s to 248.11 EH/s in just one day, further ensuring resilience against Bitcoin network attacks.

The Bitcoin (BTC) network’s hash rate hit an all-time high of 248.11 million baht/sec as of February 12, 2022, further protecting the decentralized ecosystem through a growing global network of BTC miners.

Hash rate is related to the computing power required by miners' computer equipment to confirm transactions. The recent spike in the BTC network hash rate ensures further security by preventing bad actors from confirming fraudulent transactions.

As shown in the screenshot above, the network hash rate jumped from 188.40 EH/s to 248.11 EH/s in one day, an increase of 31.69%. Additionally, the Bitcoin network’s hash rate level has risen by 54.33% over the past year.

Previously, China’s blanket ban on cryptocurrency mining and trading led to concerns over the security of the Bitcoin network, as the Asian country contributed 34.25% of the total Bitcoin mining hash rate as of June 2021.

As miners finally find refuge in other crypto-friendly countries, the Bitcoin network has seen a sharp recovery — eventually surpassing previous all-time highs.
