Ransomware group FSOCIETY claimed to have gained access to 2.5 TB of Bitfinex data and the personal data of 400,000 users of the exchange.The attackers claim they will leak users’ KYC if the company does not comply with their demands.In response to these developments, Bitfinex’s CTO called the leak a fake.He pointed out that only 5,000 out of 22,500 emails correspond to Bitfinex users. If it was the exchange’s database, the match would be 100%.He also added that the hackers have not contacted the company.Analysts believe the statement was a clickbait to sell the hacking software for $299 via telegram.
